I didn't get a code
Texts can take a minute. If nothing arrives, use Verify by sending a text instead, or your password if you have set one.
The page waits forever after I scan the QR code
Check that the text was actually sent from the phone whose number you typed (tap Send in the messages app). The code is valid for 10 minutes; after that, press Next for a new one.
It says "Wrong password for this number"
An account already exists for that number with a different password. Use Verify by sending a text instead to sign in without the password.
The Reply button says "Replied" and I can't press it
You can reply to each email only once. Reply to a later email in the conversation, or write a new email with Compose.
Can someone with Gmail write to me?
Yes. Anyone with any email address can write to 9884690127@phonemail.net, and you can write to any email address. In PhoneMail they appear as a chat like everyone else; they receive ordinary email from you and reply from their own mail program. Attachments sent to you are listed by name for now.
My email went to their Spam folder
PhoneMail signs every outgoing email (DKIM, SPF and DMARC are set up for phonemail.net). A new mail server still needs time to build a reputation with Gmail and others, so ask the person to mark your first email Not spam; later ones then arrive in the inbox.
Who can see my email?
Only the people an email was sent to. Bcc recipients are hidden from everyone except the sender. Deleting or reporting an email changes only your own copy.
Is it free?
PhoneMail is free to use. Standard SMS charges from your mobile operator may apply when you send a JOIN text.
