Delete your PhoneMail account

For the PhoneMail app for Android and iPhone and the PhoneMail web app, by Toggle Minds.

Delete it in the app

Open PhoneMail on your phone and tap your picture at the top right to open Settings.
Tap Delete account at the bottom.
Enter your password. If you never set a password, tap Send me a code by SMS and enter the code texted to your number.
Tap Delete my account. The account is deleted at once and the app signs you out.

Or delete it on the web

Open mail.phonemail.net/settings in any browser and sign in with your mobile number.
Under Delete account, choose Delete my account….
Confirm with your password. If you never set a password, choose Send code and enter the code texted to your number.
Choose Delete my account for good. The account is deleted at once and you are signed out everywhere.

Or ask us

Email shankar@toggleminds.com from your PhoneMail address (or say which number it is) with the subject “Delete my account”. It is deleted within 7 days and you get a reply when it is done.

What is deleted

Your mobile number's account and its email address
Your copies of every email: inbox, sent, drafts, spam and trash, with their attachments
Your name, profile picture, aliases, folders, blocked people, language and other settings
Your password, sign-in sessions and one-time codes

What is kept

Emails you already sent stay with the people who received them (they show as from “Deleted account”), as with any email service.
Server backups are kept for up to 12 months and then removed, so your data leaves them as they expire. They are used only to recover from a server failure.

Delete some data without deleting the account

In the app or the web app you can delete any email or draft, empty the trash, remove your profile picture and remove aliases at any time.
